Organic Farm Raided by Feds in Pennsylvania

In the US Amos Miller’s organic farm in Pennsylvania has been raided by federal agents who demanded that the farm cease operations arguing that the farm isn’t adhering to federal regulatory requirements for food and fining Miller over $300,000.

The government is attacking Miller’s operation because, on the one hand he sells directly to the consumer so they cannot act as middleman, on the other, the government is effectively acting on behalf of the industry giants who want him shut down because he doesn’t use their fertilizers, herbicides or patented seeds so they’re not getting their slice of the action. 

Journalist Michael Yoder says they want to make an example of Miller to make sure other farmers don’t attempt to replicate what Miller’s succeeded in doing.
